The DU bush had come out of my right DMR Vault pedal. Took it apart, cleaned, pushed bush back in and started to screw the inner nut on. I got nowhere near 10nm (norbar torque wrench) and the thread on the axle stripped.

I'm wondering if I've just been unlucky. Or perhaps I tried to undo the nut the wrong way (left hand thread) when I took them apart.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I'm now wondering whether it is worth just buying V11's rather than spend a bit more on new axle and service kit.

Yes it's almost certainly user error right hand pedal is reverse so I'd guess you didn't know that bit or forgot.
There was some v11 for 3o notes online but whilst theer some of the better composite pedals I'd still go alloy myself wiggle are doing the nukeproof horizon dh for just over 40 and the nukeproof horizon enduro for 50 depending on colour

I used nothing but Vaults for over 10 years and I'm currently on the V11 with no problems. I have plastic pedals on both bikes now. I think I prefer them to alloy.

Figured out why the thread stripped. Turns out my (eye wateringly expensive Norbar) torque wrench only clicks on right hand threads. On left hand threads it's just a rachet wrench. Doh.

I've never bothered with a torque wrench for anything under 40nm, I just go finger tight
