Hi everyone, I managed to get over to the Orange Bike HQ just before they sent their new DJI powered EMTB to Eurobike and shot this video. It doesn't have all the info in there as I was basically getting in the way, but its a really cool bike and it was great to see it ahead of Eurobike and also see how they make them too.

That’s a real coup getting that first look. I think this is a really good looking orange, the motor area looks good. Gusset on head tube junction looks right. I really hope it does well for them, hoped they’ll do a frame only option and I can see them doing fantastically well. I did think we’d see this with the gearbox and motor- maybe that’s coming later on.

Looks quite easy on the eye compared to other Orange ebikes. Then the new Segment swingarm appeared on screen...oh dear, what happened there?

Looks like they stuffed a DJI motor in a Shimano hole?

Once the gaps fill with mud it'll look ok!

I certainly don't hate it but it's not even close to being a looker like the Mith... Sadly, it'll probably cost more than a Mith too.

Bottle mounts? Under the down tube again maybe?

Might end up quite a clever frame if it'll take a variety of mowtahs/MGU just by changing the bracket - that's what I'd like to see more of

Looks being subjective and all that, the Mith is gopping. I'd have that Orange though

Looks capable, doesn't look fussy. That'll do for me.

I mean, I won't be able to afford it but it looks ok to me.

Could you not have just got up 5 minutes earlier and done your fapping to camera then instead of taking your eyes off the road every 3 seconds to look at yourself?

I see what they have done… very clever

Taken any orange from the last 30yrs, opened up the BB area with a tin opener and not used a hammer to make it look all fitted around the motor again , nice

and done your fapping to camera then instead of taking your eyes off the road every 3 seconds to look at yourself?

Yep quite a common dickish thing done by YT’ers maybe the Police will start taking action?

Looked to me as though they are under the Top Tube.

Well that is the least ugliest Orange I've ever seen!

Still ugly but not as bad as previous ones

That’s the first Orange that I really like the look of since my Alpine 160. Simple lines and nice shapes. Much nicer than a lot of other e-bikes (especially their other ones).

Albeit a small sample size, everyone I've ever met who has owned an orange has had a cracked rear triangle and no support from orange out of warranty.

I didn't crack my 2006 five when I had it, but I don't think I've ever met you @ogden. Although I did ride it round Ogden res!

Good vid! I wasn't clear, is this a proto? The logo is horrific (and not Strange) and the motor just sorta looks like it doesn't fit (though maybe there are just infills or covers missing?). But the bike as a whole looks fantastic to me, proper oldschool Orange looks and lines with a modern touch and it doesn't shout e-bike. Lovely. Unlike the Segment. (weirdly I currently own no Oranges)

Ah no be fair some people cracked the BB shells or the suspension mounts or just behind the headtubes 😉 If I had a pound for every time I saw someone say how "bombproof" (it's always bombproof) and reliable their Orange was and then mid-sentence notice a crack I'd have three pounds, which isn't a lot of pounds but it is really quite a lot of cracks.

Like the look of that! Not sure about the Segment but assume it's something developed out of the Stage 7?

It looks like they have just welded a motor cradle on to the bottom of every other Orange from the last 10 years. 😆

Hideous & probably as rubbish as all the others.

I bet that X2 shock is already squelching as well.

That thumbnail can't be the finished bike, can it? All for "an industrial look" but that looks liek "we got some bolts in B&Q and stuffed it in"

Looking at the pictures on Facebook it seems that the Segment shock mount is to allow a couple of bottle/tool mounts in the front triangle?

Looks good but I prefer the current rear split swingarm design. Both prototypes seem to use this but not sure if this is now the production design or just simplified for these protos?
