Anyone know if its possible to ditch the 11t sprocket on either a Shimano or SRAM cassette?
Why?
I want to go hydro disc which means 11 speed. (SRAM 10 speed version is a stupid price)
I know I can junk something like a 16t middle sprocket but on a 11-32 that leaves a huge gap in the middle. I could spare the 11 easily but suspect that that's the one that I need to keep. Haven't got anything handy to inspect. Can't ditch the 32 as as far as I know all 11 speed cassettes carry the biggest sprockets on a carrier. That option would be perfect as a 30t would be great as a biggest. Ideally a 12-30 would be nice but I doubt that's out there.

I take it you can't get a 11 speed feeehub for your wheels?

Of course you can. You may need to get hold of a 12 tooth cog that's suitable for use with a lockring though (i.e. with the knurled bits on it) to prevent slipping/loosening.

Just run a 10 speed cassette and live with the very slightly off shifting.

Aha.
I buy a 12t first position sprocket, chuck the normal 12 plus the 11t first position sprocket and it should fit.
Anyone care to find a hole in my theory?

Wouldn't an XT 11speed cassette fit on your Hope XC hubs?
