Evening,

Just pondering at what point people replace their discs - is there a minimum thickness?

Also.. Shimano rotors - say 'resin only' - I use sintered pads - will that speed up wear?

cheers.

I'm using sintered pads on a resin only disc as the resin pads melt in the rain.
The discs have the minimum thickness stamped on them. Use vernier gauges to check.

I've got sintered in the front and gone through two sets of resin pads in the rear. Given the discs on mine are less than 20 quid each it's cheaper to use sintered pads and replace the disk when it's buggered than use set after set of resin pads. When the disc is foobar I will just get a normal disc and sintered pads of crc or ebay.
