Are all disc rotors the same thickness? I need a new front rotor as the current one is ever so slightly warped and rubs on the pads. I have M960 calipers but want the flowery hope rotor. Will it work or am I better sticking to shimano?

Usually it works, the pads can sit where they need to to accommodate.

You can also true your existing rotor.

I've been using Hope discs with Shimano XTR calipers (M960 & M970) for several years without problems.

Different thickness rotors is only a problem with fat ones and new pads that are on the limit of manu tolerances....then you need to think laterally to solve the problem.

Cynic-al whats the best way to true the rotor?
I did think about squishing it in a vice. But I don't have a vice.

you can buy rotor truing tools or you can just use a big adjustable spanner and bend it GENTLY back into place. Hope rotors are awesome though i have had 2 sets on 2 bikes and cant fault them.
