Hello,

Myself and some friends went to Dalby and afterwards one of my friends checked his bike out and the metal clip that holds the pads in the rear avid disc brakes was bent and the pads had come out.

Now i though this was odd and whilst he awaited replacements he has been riding a spare bike of mine, again this has happened and i have no idea how he could be damaging them like that? He is heavy on the back brake but is this really that common?

are the pads not held in with magnets? i doubt it is caused just by heavy breaking.

Not sure i wasn't aware of that?

Both brakes are Avid made, one set of juicy's and one set of elixirs...

They can catch and bend, esp when the pads are very worn.

Falling out is a seperate issue I think.
