I'm building up a new bike using existing parts including Avid Juicy 7 brakes, which have always served me well. Problem is that the rear hose is too short and therefore needs replacing and at some stage they will probably need a piston refurb. Is it worth spending £50+ on an old set of brakes or am I better off investing, if so recommendations please.

Did consider that but the rear hose is too short.
I'd pay someone £50 to take Avid brakes off any bike I owned...
