Well, that was a fun way to spend a Sunday morning.
Fell off the fattie for the first time - I really though it was impossible to do that with such wide tyres, got beer and won a Lezyne rear light and met some fun folk too.
Thanks Trailbreak.

Was a good fun route. The big chalky climb in the middle was a challenge on Mezcals, span the rear wheel a few times but managed to clean it. Some good fun downhills too.
It’s been years since I’ve ventured up to the North Downs & it’s actually good to see how much fun riding can be had away from the usual honeypot trails.

It was great fun and respect for the people doing it in full Santa suits!

I'll second that thanks, a decent ride on some new to me trails with the trails running well apart that bast...d chalk hill climb!

Got a free beer too but no prize.

Rob and I came 48th in the long route, not that it was a race.

That hill is called Beggars Lane and I would personally rate it as the hardest (doable) hill in the Surrey Hills/North Downs. Well done if you made it to the top without stopping!

I rarely go up it, but if I do, I start slowly!

I almost had to put a foot down on Beggars Lane when a runner came down but I managed to keep going.
Didn’t treat is as a race but came in 6th overall, was surprised to be that quick actually.
