The prices on Dirty Discos seems decent enough just now. Are they any good? I am lusting after something bike shaped and shiny just now.

I have a AL framed CX bike that I love, and I do fancy a bit of carbon in my life. Dirty Disco seems to tick the right boxes.

Are they a decent buy or will I not notice any difference in my XL aluminium framed CX bike?

Don't have the Dirty Disco but do have the XLS which was my first carbon bike. Previous bikes were either aluminium or steel and the carbon had the stiffness and response of the aluminium but with the comfort of steel.
If the geometry is right for you then go for it.

There was a thread on it, i think it was Duckman. Seemed to like it a lot.

I like mine. Posted a bunch of feedback on a previous thread if you do a search: light, fast, surprisingly comfortable, good all-rounder on and off road. Built to 20lb measured weight with Crest 29ers, TRP Spyres and a bunch of pretty middle of the road components.

No idea how it'll compare to your aluminium frame. Mine replaced a steel Soma and it's just lighter and sharper.
