Anyone running one?
Can't find any feedback
£70 is a bit steep though
Tried one - it works in mud unlike any others I've tried.
You gets what you pay for.
I got the 26" ones when they first came out - they last really well, as all Surly tyres seem to do. In fact I've just put together a bike based on these tyres. They work well in most conditions I've tried and will remain on as a result. 27 tpi rear (cheaper) and 120tpi front (more supple) are my preferred combo. I will never buy narrower again.
I don't think it will work on a Stooge though?
What's the alternative?
Present conditions are as bad as they get mud wise. The Vee Fatty front and NN 3" rear both struggled today
Mind you, cold (= dry) snap forecasted, and Spring is round the corner (!)
just been out in a total slopfest with one on the front today, i'd say its about as good a front tyre as you'll get for the front of the Stooge in these conditions
I've been happy with my Spesh purgatory

Jonestown - mine was tongue in cheek 😉
I'll see how the weather looks over the coming week and then decide
You never know, winter may finally arrive
I thought CTBM was selling the 27.5 x3"
Now I can't find them on sale anywhere...??
bump for the evening crew
In real mud I've not been amazed with the DW in 29+ flavour. I rode with some guys on CX bikes recently in real muddy conditions and they were doing the classic cutting through and finding traction while I was slithering around on the top. I keen meaning to try some Maxxis Shortys I have on wide rims. I reckon they could provide a bit more cut through while still giving the cushioning of a big tyre.
Finding the 27+ Bomboloni very good all-rounder. Still has a bit of a skating on the surface feel in really goopy stuff but nice and predictable.
So where can the DW be bought from, and for that matter the Bombolino?
Sam (above^) will sell you bomboloni's
CTBM just advertised the Dirt Wizards in an email flyer thing.
Thanks for that
