I'm after a direct drive trainer and looking at a refurb kicker V2, (the slightly quieter one), or a neo.
Kickr is quite a bit cheaper but how loud are they? Are they better than a normal 'wheel on' trainer, and bearing in mind i'll be using a big fan to keep me cool, is the kickr much noisier than that?
I've seen a few videos but hard to tell from these. They do seem to have a more high pitched whine than some trainers.
Tried the Neo out in Leisure Lakes the other day and it's definitely quieter than my Kickr. My Kickr is the 2016 model, not this years version which supports Kickr Climb. I had the Tacx Halfords popular model before my kickr and it was definitely louder. The kickr isn't silent but its not obnoxious or annoying, can easily watch Netflix or listen to music and not feeling like I have to have it blasting at me. Depending on the gears I'm in at the time varies the noise level again. I certainly wouldn't say its super loud or whines though and as I say definitely quieter than the Tacx wheel on trainer I used before.
thanks, if its quieter than a wheel on then should be ok!
