I have a small sharp dint on the edge of a rim (rock strike). The wheel is still true however it wont hold tubeless.

I have nothing to loose here so before i get the hammer out is there a good way to do this?

Cheers

Adjustable spanner and gently, it may crack and you may not need to bend it straight for it to seal.

If it's an actual indentation, rather than the sidewall being bent inwards/outwards over a cm or so, I'd say you'll not fix it.  Photo might help.

I’ve done it successfully with the adjustable spanner before.

gently is the technique here, and even then you will need luck as well.

the last thing you want is to bend it too far, as then it will need to be bent back again, with entirely predictable results.

Warpcow, yeah mine was 5-6mm so I’d agree with you on that.

There wasn't enough of a lip with the adjustable spanner however ive had reasonable success with some mole grips so thanks that

It looks like it will hold tubeless now however there is a bit of a flat spot where the dent happened and on the curve of the rim there is a good bump... ive tried holding a piece of wood over it and smacking it with a hammer but nothing happens. I'm not giving it all my force however i'm frightened ill miss and cause a good dent 🙂

As it happens I just had a go this morning at taking a ding out of my rear wheel after I'd struck a water bar at the weekend. The ding was mainly lateral rather than flatting the circumference. Hope rims, just used an adjustable spanner and took it easy. Getting the rim "in line" took care of most of the flatting. Re-taped and fitted the tyre and eight hours later it seems to be holding. I'll need to do a ride or two to make sure it's not going to blow off or otherwise be a problem.

When i use the adjustable spanner method, i put a metal ruler on the outside of the rim to stop the adjustable spanner digging into the outside of rim & leaving marks
