Evening all. New to the forum.

Owner of hardtail & full suspension mountain bikes, flat bar road bike. Retro mountain bike (tarted up myself)  and an adventure motorcycle. It’s possibly an understatement to say I like bikes?

I know I should start off with aggressive posts about Brexit and or COVID, but meh I’ll be nice. Prefer bikes to arguing with strangers on the internet!

Seasons greetings to you all.

PS. Can you recommend a good value MTB helmet for trail riding?

Welcome to the forum. It’s generally a supportive community with a brilliant hive mind for solving DIY problems etc.

I take it someone has checked you have the right coffee machine, estate car and log burner when they confirmed your membership.

Everything seems to be in order there.

The estate car is not an Audi because I’m an experienced & considerate driver. Is that an issue?

What's your position on cephalopods?

@ Richard. I don’t own any vehicles from the VAG group. Although I’m rather fond of vag.

@ Captain. humm cephalopods. Best I can do is recall cuttlefish from the Monty Python Parrot sketch.

Seasons greetings to you!
Something Bontrager. Mips at a reasonable price. Fit is like Giro.

Each bike must be presented against a gate and a picture posted......

Seriously, welcome to the off world that is singletrack

May your tumbles be minor and your wheels be 29r

Re the helmet, they don’t get better value than these, I’ve had mine for 6 months and I love it.

Welcome. It's really a family on here. A very angry family.

A dysfunctional one at that, although we do like flat whites ( or at least 4 years ago) gravel bikes but not too gravely, fixies ( do we ), Octavia estates and an old lava dome done up well ( but no purple bits )

Someone will be along soon to explain to you why helmets are bad for you.

Don't post a picture of your bike against a gate, post a picture of them leaning against your house. Then we can point out that your patio/grass/weeds need sorting, Wall needs painting etc.

What??! Must have missed that. I thought it was a perfect espresso crafted from artisan beans and pulled from a modded second-hand gaggia classic. (Pre 2015 obvs).

Tyres. Can't believe we missed this. I assume you are running supergravity doubledown maxxgrip magi-x addix-suck or thereabouts on your xc bike... yeah?

I'll be along shortly to explain why my choices of bike, kit and riding style are the correct ones, and why everyone else is doing it wrong. I'm just a bit busy with my sour dough starter at the moment, however when I get to work I'll have plenty of time.

(You might need to start another thread for a helmet! But... just go for comfort and fit)

Welcome to the forum OP. If you do post bike pictures just make sure the valves and logos are correctly aligned or you'll never hear the end of it. What're you feelings on skinwall tyres?

"Ding Dong"
I hope that's from an artisan hand crafted 🔔 🛎

Greetings 😁

My arse! Coffee should be black, strong and plentiful. Go and sit on the naughty step and have a think about what you've done. We're not angry, just very disappointed

Hi and the last pre-requisite is owning a Record vice.

No I believe Ding Dong is a reference to one of the characters from Nightingales a late night ch4 comedy.

Welcome to the forum.

For helmets I'd recommend a Giro Fixture with MIPS, not too expensive and are very comfy with decent protection. Although Gravel is where it's all at these days so your helmet must come with no peak.

Hi there , I've just bought myself a MET roam helmet as a christmas present from my wife to me . Seems nice but cost more than i was wanting to spend as the main issue at the moment seems to be finding anything in stock .

Newbie alert, old timers will be recommending Conti Vert-Pro or something in white from Onza.

Welcome OP if you need to know something and no one here knows anything about it you can discount the knowledge as being required for life.
