Always used Maxxis , either High Rollers or Ardents with no dramas . Unable to get one when needed so tried a different make , have come off twice since , going to swap it to the rear , am I wrong in pointing blame at new tyre ?

What, you've come off or the tyre has?

Have you checked that the valves line up with the logos?

You gotta blame something.

What did you get? Front tyres make a noticeable difference to the way a bike handles - if you've gone narrower or harder compound you'll have less grip on the front and it's rare I lose the front and don't crash.

A gentleman would let the tyre come off first.

P Jay one sensible comment , thanks , I should have expected it on here . Use High Rollers normally replacement Vittoria Goma . Looking at the shoulders they are more square compared to Goma .

depends on the compound of the tyre, if they've smeared it with mould release, pressure, size.

What happened when you crashed, front wash out? no brakes?

Might not be the tyre at all.

What he said ^^^^^ could be a combo of things . Was it the "usual" ride etc ?

I always find front tyres take some getting used to, you need to know how/when they slide, what angle they grip best at, etc. That can take some getting used to, particularly if you've only used 1 type for a while in the past.

So whilst it may not be the tyres fault, it may require you to get used to how it works best.

my geax (now called victoria) run much lower pressures than other tyres. i think my front is about 15 psi, normally i'd be at about 25.

I have used HR's for some time now, quite some time ago when they had "Rolling Dice" on the sidewall and just before a trip to CYB i changed to some bizare MICHELIN Wild Grip R, its the worst days riding i've ever had.

EXCEPT for the fact Rachel Atherton was riding right in front of me...............

Anyway, i pinched, punctured, ripped the sidewall and my bike was all over the place, worst tyres ive ever ridden on.

Just spent the first day in the Alps riding on an out of date HR2, the sidewalls were so badly chewing off that my front end was self steering.
So NO. not wrong in pointing blame at new tyres, you get confident on what you know, you would probably gain confidence in the new set up but there is definately a difference in tyre performance, if there wasnt we would all be happy running any old shoite.

thomthumb re pressures , according to the sidewall tubeless tyre should be run between 29 and 59 psi !
😯 Going to stick it on the back see what happens . Both offs were on familiar trails but I guess I can't be certain tyre was culprit .

I ate soooo much shit when I went to Hans dampfs. I just couldn't stay on the ****ing bike! Got used to it after a while though, well until they fell to pieces in not very many miles.

Makes a big difference if you have gone from a 2.4 HRII 3c to a 2.25 GOMA non TNT then there is going to be a huge difference in grip levels. Also like others have said it's getting used to how tyres behave. This year I have used a lot of different combos I get up to speed a lot quicker now. Just stuck a Slaughter on the back of my bike and I've understood it pretty quickly just don't know how it is on wet roots yet...
