I'm looking at Leatt goggles and can see the difference between the different lenses. But I can't really see much difference between the models.

Why would I buy a 6.5 over a 4.0? What does 5.5 offer that 5.0 doesn't?

Just interested but, of all the goggles available why would you be looking at Leatt? The only reason I can see for wearing them would be they were very cheap or you were sponsored by Leatt.   Why not something from a proper goggle company? I can see how they've moved into general protection from the toilet seats but these are just a bit "me too".

Given that the 4.5s are a double lens goggle available for £35-45, they are absolutely worth a look. Leatt aren't exactly known for just pumping out crap quality goods, goggles aren't exactly complex things and spare lenses seem to be available - no reason not to look at them

I'm looking at any decent brand of goggles that I can get spare lens for. Completely open to recommendations under about £80.

A pair of Oakley O-frames arrived today but the replacement lens I ordered for them only fit the mx goggles not the MTB ones. Turns out they don't supply replacement lenses in the UK.  Plus they have pissed me off by air mailing the world's biggest box from Italy on the pretence that this is "environmental shipping"

I think the lenses fit all models. The boy has 4.5s I think and prefers them over his Fox. I bought him 2 new lenses a few days ago actually. We fitted a new one for Fort William.

It's a fairly wide range for sure. The breakdown goes something like this.

6.5/5.5/4.5 have double skin lens

5.0/4.0 have single skin MTB specific lens

6.5 has quick change lens, outriggers and a 50mm strap

5.5 has outriggers and a 45mm strap

4.5 has a 40mm strap

5.0 is MTB with a iriz tinted and ventilated lens

4.0 is MTB with a ventilated strap as well as the ventilated lens.

Double and single lenses are all the same size so interchangeable between all the models.

Most people would be best with the 4.0 or 4.5 and with a spare clear lens.

Feel free to ask any other Leatt based questions.

Cheers, cirdan.
