I have a powermeter and average power for a 4 hour cycle was 173 watts, but my average weighted is 190.
Anyone care to explain the difference?

Average power includes time spent not pedalling, average weighted power ignores all zero values, average weighted power is more commonly known as normalised power.
ah thanks Njee, I had thought average power ignored all zeros as well. I'm new to this Powermeter business.

Normalised power is a bit different (explanation here) and I think it tries to generate a constant power equivalent figure for your ride. No idea what average weighted power is though!
Edit... ah right, have a look here. It looks to be along similar lines to NP (but definitely not average with zero's removed.)
