Would anyone know if the Mk1 has the same spec as the Mk2 ? (In terms of seat post size/bottom bracket etc).Any ideas of front mech size would also be useful (for mk1).

Mk1 needs a 27.2 seatpost and a 68mm bb. It will be tricky to use a front mech on one as there are no cable stops, however I fitted one to use as chain guide when I ran mine 1x9, I can't remember what size it is thought.

Yes. Same size seat post (27.2mm), seat clamp (30mm) and front mech (28.6).
Ison used to sell a clamp on front mech widget type thing.
