650b Alpine is out, 650b Prince Albert on its way, UK brand ambassador in Matt Humphrey.

USA based these days, not sure about UK sales.

I like the colours but can't read about the frames as the writing is too small.

The old Alpine was £395 delivered.

The new one is $899 delivered, or £650ish. Then you'll pay another £160 or so in import duty and VAT.

I stopped being quite so interested in a new one at that point.

Yeah am sorry those prices are stupid considering what they were.

Will stick with my 26" pa until it dies then will look elsewhere

And that was considered mid-priced even back then.

There does seem a big gap in the market for a new 456 (when that was new it's geometry was very much out there, very long and slack by 2005(ish) standards), come on Planet-X buck your ideas up! Ditch all the 'nice' bits like the cast dropouts (on-one's always had just a bit of steel plate), the heat treated steel, the butted headtubes, all the stuff that costs but doesn't change the ride and bring back £200 frames!

Other than that little rant, YAY 🙂

Other than the DeeDar, which they're knocking out at £200 (£175 if you're small) at the moment?

3.6kg mind.

Nowt to see there.

Looks like someone has discovered a lorry load of 5 year old frames and decided to punt them out.

Exactly like that, except with more uptodate geometry (it's very short in the reach, ditto the 45650b) and 29" wheels.

When the 465 came out no one cared that it was heavy (although I just read somewhere it was 5.25lb which is VERY light in comparison) because it was in a niche of 1. If O-O/P-X produced a blatant copy of the Moxie or FastForward, but with plate QR dropouts and the cheapest butted cr-mo tubeset they could lay their hands on it would be back where the 456 was when it was new.

My 14yr old could turn out a better website than that in his IT class!
And at those prices can’t see too many hitting U.K. trails

I’m out despite loving the 26” one I had

I've got a mark II and it's brilliant. The mark IV has been available for a while now but that looks like it belongs in theTransition/Muc-off advert. I know there are exchange rates and things but the price???

The dirt bike does look really cool, I always wanted a PK Ripper when I was a boy.
