Looking at forks for a lightish alpine build, narrowed down to current choices
Rock Shox Sektor RL Coil Forks 2012 £224 crc
2012 Rockshox Revelation RLT 15mm Axle £300 CRC
what do reckon are better and any other options?
Used Revs on mine, seemed to work okay like most RS stuff I guess. Lighter than Sektors but most seemed to use Pikes which is what Sektors replaced isn't it? Pay more lose weight.
i'd say Sektor (prefer the feel of coil over air), but i would also look for something with u-turn to help keep the front end down on the climbs.

This is just what I was about to say, although more from a jumping perspective. I found the an Alpine is much more fun in the air with a 90mm fork, but suited a 125/130mm setup on the way back down.
Dependant on your perspective £76 may or may not be alot of £££ but I've only ever heard of raved reviews for Revs, Sektor are a similar but a budget version, I have a set of pikes and would have them over sektors. Again if your looking at standard qr against bolt through I would go bolt through evertime but that's dependant on ridding style.
If budget allows go Revs!
Based on other feedback...ie uturn....coil, the lyrik (second hand) would be spot on.
thanks they will be bolt thru either 20mm or 15mm
considered u turn or travel adjust alas cost added but have found they climb pretty well with lock out so we were prepard to forego that luxury.
second hand prices are more than or similiar to new, plus lyriks are much heavier (?)
any alternatives to above?
My brand new Fox 36 Floats spaced down to whatever travel mm you like squire.
Other than that, the new Suntour forks look spot on imo, not ime though if budget is key factor.
These are meant to be very good indeed:

Dirt mag liked them & a couple of mates have used them and sung their praises. Having had an alpine I would also say 130mm is the frame's sweet spot.
