Any advice other than replace the bike with something flash (credit controller currently not accepting this argument)
My old road bike (9spd triple 105) is occasionally getting chain suck on the underneath of the smallest chain ring when changing down to it. Chain is very clean, chainring not long since replaced - no burrs or hooks. Chain just sort of folds underneath itself.
I'm wondering if the spring on the v old and well sued derailleur has weakened and that lack of tension means the extra chain released as you come off the bigger rings doesn't get pulled taught?
New derailleur time?
Possibly, but is chain worn (regrdless of how clean it is). Or chain too long (which would be hidden for a while if spring tension higher intitially).
Worn chain
Tight link
So chain is between the 75% and 100% marker on the gauge. I guess that's the first port of call....but pretty certain that means a new cassette......all opf a sudden that flash new bike is starting to stack up (in my mind)!
