RockShox Revelations probably 5years old, cant remember the model, single air (not +ve top & -ve bottom), the rebound side would have had a remote lock, but thats gone, rebound adjuster at the bottom

riding it at the weekend, it felt wrong and may have bottomed out harshly, or packed down and bottomed out...

checked the air pressure, expecting it to be low, still at 100psi, i topped it up to 110 and found the fork all but locked out... Ive let the air out and it has about 50mm of travel.

about to take it apart.....

any guesses much appreciated

Air in the lowers.

Bleed them if they have the valve (or loosen and knock the foot nut in and redo it) and they’ll be reet.

Root cause probably one of the seals/o-rings gone or dry.

Oh or blocked transfer port in the uppers for solo air. It’s just a notch in the upper air spring stanchion, can get clogged with grease.

Air in lowers probably. Slide the pointy end of a cable tie past the wiper seal and the air will come out. But you will need an air spring service anyway so you might as well get on with that too.

spot on ta - no obvious problem, so probably worth getting a seal kit as its bound to happen again

Normally we get a debate at this point as to whether the mystical footnut valve exists.

I think I’d do a lowers service and an air spring service - maybe change the slider seals at the same time if they haven’t been done in a few years.

It means you need to buy a new one. Preferably with a new bike attached.
