How rideable is this track? We are in Torridon at the moment and are struggling to find tracks that aren't really hard work in the snow, so lowish and near the coast seems reasonable. We did Applecross to Kenmore the other day and that was fine but the Bealach is still closed.

Any other suggestions gratefully received

I mentioned this on the BearBones forums - see here for the response.

htrider's "nadge fest" means that you'll be threading your way through boulders and stones embedded in the track. There'll be little "flow".

Report back please!

Edit: That thread had other suggestions as well. Check geograph.org.uk for photos of the path along the coast.

If you don't mind a bit of travelling there's a coastal route near Elgol on Skye.

If memory serves me right it’s a bit of a bog with splendid isolation and stunning views.

It's a carry - often with your bike above your head

The ride to Craig bothy is superb. The bit onto Redpoint isn't.

You could always do and out and back to the bothy.

Disclaimer: haven't been that way for many, many years and I was on a touring bike.

I tried it last summer and gave up after a couple of miles. Awful rock strewn trail that just did not work on a bike.
Edit: I started at Redpoint.
