After a crash about a month ago, it won’t come back. Tried crash mode, but nothing except a faint beep.
Anyone managed to resurrect from this?
Can I warranty it, I ordered it Feb 22 2021.
So it was fitted exactly a year ago.

Warranty doesn't cover crash damage

But if it did, warranty is 3 years on xtr/Dura ace and two years on xt/ultegra

If nothing was broken then the mech would still work.

Is it worth trying warranty, how strict are shimano on surface damage?

You'd need to go through a shop. The first thing they'll do is look at it and say it has been crashed. Shimano rely on their dealers to filter out unnecessary warranty claims.
You've already said it stopped working after a crash, why do you feel that it is a possible warranty claim?

It’s a bike, I would hope the warranty includes it getting wet, or being dropped, especially when it’s such an expensive part.

Warranty covers manufacturing defects. If you want protection against accident damage then it's probably insurance that you should be looking at.

If it was mine I would still take it to a shop and get them to run e-tube diagnostics. That can sometimes fix things.

I've recovered "dead" Di2 doing exactly that. Plug it all in, reflash software, swear a few times.

Reflash the same software again.
Then it works, but needed setting up from scratch again.

Okay thanks I’ll try that, from the phone app or a laptop?

I'd probably not mention it had been crashed on a bike forum if you were going to try to warranty it. You never know who is reading.

the charging cable can also be used to connect the bike to the PC, to run a diagnostic/change settings/update software.

I have the Bluetooth jobbie, so I can do from the app, it can see it so I’ll try and do the update.

Software updated, so it isn’t dead, but still not working. I think I might pull it apart see if I can see something broken internally. Pretty much resigned to a new RD
