........will a "Climbers switch" work as a stand alone shifter on an XT 1x11 setup?
Cheers
Tim
I’m pretty sure the old two button one will but have not tried it my self.
The newer style climbing switches , one small switch for each side of the bar will work on a 1x11 set up without the bulky gear screen thing.
All you need is the rear mech battery and a junction box with the charging port plus your button of choice for the bars
These are the ones I used

If we’re talking about the r600 shifter. Yes it will work with xt; xtr as a stand alone shifter but it’s hard to mount in a nice position.
I thought about emptying the guts out of it and just having the buttons under my grips.
never got around to that.
@ on and on
I got as far as buying a r600 to strip down and faff with some foam grips but the 9150 ones came out and saved me the hassle
I didn’t know they existed until 4 minutes ago 🙂
I have xtr with synchro / display. How would I plumb them ?
Ive not got to play with the xtr display yet.
But the 9150 buttons just have a tail of cable with a normal di2 connector on the end.
Think the dispaly has three ports
one to go into the bike frame and two left over for the shifters ,
but if you have the battery in the forks you may only have one spare port. Or the 9150 buttons may not have enough cable to reach the display.
You may need to add a jc41 or jc200 and some more cable to make it work.
It does not matter in what order things are plugged in to make it work.
The harder part is making it look neat
ive Only tried this with a 1x11 not a 2x11 set to synchro.
The weight weenies for mum is good for di2 info also
Thanks for the info.
i now have options!
cheers
