I bought a used di2 group recently and fitted it to my bike.
It's 6870 Ultegra 11speed with an internal battery.
Everything works fine but the shifter buttons seem to work the wrong way round.
I read you could reprogram them to work the other way and set about connecting the charger to my pc.
When all connected up the etube says that unit is not compatible with my bike and it appears that it thinks the components are the older 6700series 10 speed units.
The charger is a bcr2.
Can anyone put me in touch with someone who can help me make it recognise the 11speed group please.
Cheers G

I've had something similar. It's worth unplugging as much as you can and seeing if that works. Can be that different firmware revisions on the different components cause it problems. Strip it down to a system that is just the junction box and the battery and see if it recognises that ok and update all the firmware. Then add in a component at a time and keep updating the firmware.

Cheers blobby.
I removed all plugs except the jbox and batt and it allowed me to go to the update firmware but it asks which components were previously fitted and mine don't appear on the list!
Not sure what to do now.

Can you say "none" and just update the firmware on the junction box and battery?

Which components does it show in the list?

It shows 10 speed groups. It has check boxes but there is one always set I think.

Curious. I wonder if the junction box and battery was previously used with 10 speed Di2?

Apparently you can just connect the junction box to the charger without the battery. Maybe try that?

I'll give that a go shortly.

I've tried your suggestion and it allows me to check the firmware and it says it's the latest version on the jbox

When I try connecting anything other than the battery and ew jbox it just says it doesn't support bicycle type and the list of components compatible it gives are 10 speed. Does the charger have firmware too?

I assume you've checked the model numbers on all the bits?
As I understand it, it's only really the rear mech that is fixed to 10sp or 11sp, all other items are changeable. I'd be looking at the rear mech - even if it has the right model number, does it look like original equipment or might your seller have bodged in a part from an older version as a repair, say ?

It is odd. Yes, front and rear mech both need to be the same series (i.e 10 or 11 speed but not mixed.) Pretty much everything else can be mixed.

Are you using the latest eTube software?

Yes I think the charger contains firmware too. ETube should update that.

I've only just downloaded the software so I guess it's the latest. That said I had to use my old laptop as the software doesn't work with macs and it's running vista!
All the components are 6870 but they don't appear on the list suggesting that the charger only recognises older components. But it is a sm-bcr2 so it should recognise them. When I plug it in it does say check regularly for the latest firmware and then says I'm upto date.
