Gutted - I just got my first pair of winter tights and chose these. Really like them, great fit but they ain't going to last long. Did about 70 kms in them and where the material contacts the seat its pilling badly and will be worn through after another couple hundred kms.

Unless I hear that this is normal and the wear somehow magically stops I'm going to have to return them to Wiggle.

Any alternatives for around the same price ? Expecting I'll have to pay a bit more as these were less than £50 in the sale. I suppose you get what you pay for but in all other respects they are warm and good quality. And how come the arse hasn't worn on my other gear that has been used for thousands of kms ?

Quite literally a bummer.

I have some dhb winter long bibs that pilled badly, but they're still going after four years or so.

Even so, I think I'd look elsewhere next time.

Piling is usually the fault of stitching on the saddle or a seat pack, rather than the clothes, even Assos with their legendary quality warn you they don't warranty it (although they have made exceptions in the past). I expect some shorts/tights may wear faster due to it but no lycra-based material is going to hold up to the chafing from a strap on a seat pack etc.
