I've got a pair of their normal bib shorts but after a ride today at 1 degree I find normal bibs a bit thin for the temperature. I have some 3/4 length roubaix rapha shorts but I wanted a second pair of something. Anyone got the roubaix thermal tights and if so how are they? They'd likely be my lunch-ride ones for winter so I'm not fussed if they aren't the absolute best but the main thing is warmth and comfort.
Got the bib tight versions of those. V comfy and warm with a decent enough pad too.
I find mine very comfortable.
It's only the very coldest days when I feel a need to wear anything underneath or outside these.
They lasted all of last years winter, and are going strong so far this year.
mine are a couple of years old but the sizing is awful: legs too long. body too short.
I ordered two sizes and the large was smaller than medium!
Hilariously long legs but ok otherwise.
And the bunched up Lycra keeps my shins nice and warm.
I've just bought a pair of the roubaix winter tights, I've wore them twice and they are amazing, comfy, warm without sweating. Really good product
Think Road CC did a review on these a couple of weeks ago and gave them four or five out of five.
Agree about the long legs....I have to have turn-ups:)
Lusso Nitelife were a good price at CRC recently
The 3/4 versions are what I use almost all year round. Warm in the cold and still fine in the warm, decent pad, and they still look like new after lots of washes. Could be a bit longer in the leg for me, but otherwise they're very good.
I got some of the non-bib longs recently; haven't used them yet but the construction is the same. Again, could be longer in the leg for me, but that's normal 🙂

I felt they weren't 'people-shaped' either. Plus the ankle zips let go on mine fairly early on.

Mine are the opposite. Legs too short, top too long(ish) - has been know to lead to some unfortunate chaffage 😯
I've worn them in all kinds of weather. Find them on the warm side when you're approaching 10 degrees or so. Perfect when it's dropping down to zero. Would be nice if they were water repellent in some way, just for the absolute worst of the weather, when it's cold, windy, and sideways sleet soaking into them... Apart from that, toasty. One of the best things I've bought.
Hmm... maybe I'll try a pair of their 3/4 then seeing as I've not had a problem with cold shins ever
Mine are the tights, not bib-longs BTW.
They might have been redesigned of course. Had them two years at least.
I have the 3/4 version in medium, I am 5'10"/34" waist they fit well, the pad is good, The fit of the roubaix fabric seems a bit tighter/compressive than other plain lycra DHBs. TBH I find them a bit too warm until the weather is at least sub 5*C...
Next time I will probably get the bib short version and some leg/knee warmers...
I have been using the bib tights for a year and they have been great. Worn well, wash well, comfortable pad and very good fit. (5 10 with a 33 inside leg and legs length is perfect on mediums)
I too found the sizing weird. I normally hover between L and XL depending on manufacturer but needed XXL in dhb and they are still tighter than I would really like.
My dhb 3/4 Roubaix bibs are my favourite bit of cycling gear, really well-made, lasted for years and keep your thigh muscles at exactly the right temperature. Also the pad is thin not fat and squidgy so they are extremely comfortable.
Another happy customer here...
I've used a pair of dhb roubaix shorts for the last couple of years and they are excellent. I add knee warmers (also dhb roubaix) when it gets a bit colder and it's a great combination.
I've also picked up a pair of the 3/4s this year and they seem great too.
Warm & toasty. I also find them a bit long in the leg. Either wrinkle them up or fold them inside, or outside if you're wearing gaiters when the weather is really gash.
Rate them highly through winter.
Lusso Repel are a good Roubaix for the money too.
Loved my 3/4 roubaix dhb until today, when it was 1 degree and raining. Was just dreich (fenwick moor)
Some sort of electric heating would be more than welcome - the kit is grand when cold and dry...
