£250 budget to get me some DH wheels. I'm thinking either:

Nukeproof Generators OR
Hope Hoops - Pro 2's on Mavic 721's

Rear needs to be 150mm / 12mm
Front needs to be compatible for Boxxers - is that 20mm?

Any thoughts / advice?

Thanks

i've got a Nukeproof hubs on 719 rims, and a Hope Pro2's on 721's.

the only difference you'll notice* is that the rear nukeproof hub is a little cheaper, and a little quieter, than the rear Hope hub.

(*without taking them apart)

all the hubs are the same weight - to within a few grams.

yes, Boxxers are 20mm.

Thanks. No probs with the Nukeproof hubs? Have heard of a couple of freehub problems

Boxxers are 20mm axles, and the new axle works really nicely.

I'm running a 150mm Hope on my DH bike and it has been faultless (so far).

Hasn't there been problems with Hope axles snapping with non-QR axles?

IIRC there was a thread about it happening with Maxle rear ends on Hope hubs, put it that way.....

my nukeproof and hope hubs have been faultless.

if i had to buy another wheel, i'd probably get... er... another... Nukeproof - it's just a bit quieter than a pro2.

No the problem with hope axles snapping is with the new maxle light. Not the standard maxle or the standard bolt through nor are their with the front
