I know its more DH than XC etc but I know theres some DH'ers hiding on here as well.
Considering getting a Foes RS7 as a replacement for my ageing Foes FLy (02-04 type).
It will be a pure DH bike, I mostly do uplifts and failing that I push up hill, it wont be being ridden up hill. To give you an idea - I mostly ride around the Midlands, Bringewood, Hopton, Bucknell and other local tracks like Eastridge, ribs, lecky as well as tracks like Cwm carn, Gawton, etc. Im looking to race Pearce next season.
The fly's getting a bit old and tired - the shock as been serviced and had subsequently had a seal replaced again to solve an air leak and no small bump compression dampening, a problem that seems to be returning, in addition to a little lateral play seems developing (might be emphasised by the shock) - as the rear doesnt seem to be tracking as well as it used to.
Anyone on here got an RS7? Have you got the coil or air curnutt version?
How does it handle? More agile than the DHS 2:1? Is the the 7" travel sufficient for the UK, the 8" curnutt travel on the Fly has always felt more than enough and fairly bottomless, however i havent had chance to try the new 2:1 ratio bikes.
Any rider input appreciated.
