So, the last ever elite finals at FtWilliam for Champs or Cup.

We thoroughly enjoyed a brilliant day yesterday watching elite and juniors - some serious fun and noise. So well organised, and so much happy vibe everywhere.

Predictions?
Observations?

Yesterday's NZ 1,2,3 in Juniors was spectacular, a shame Amy missed out.

On the shuttle bus right now on the way up. Most excited.

Been watching Bernard Kerr's LSD vids and he's absolutely flying. Place would go bonkers if he pulls it off

Is it on TV anywhere?

I can see it on the BBC website but would rather not watch it on my phone

Don't want to derail the thread but why is it the last ever? Most videos I've seen people seem to like it as a venue?

s it on TV anywhere?

discovery+ and i think eurosport are showing it live

Live on bbc1, commentary for the juniors was pretty dismal yesterday. Would love to see Bernard Kerr take it but I'm going for Bruni and Vali Holl

Add I understand it the development plan for world cup tracks is to have top times around 3 minutes. They've done what they can to make Fort Bill quicker for the world champs, but they can't shorten it or move the start/finish and have something still worthy for WC.

Anyone know if the bbc have live coverage of the elite DH finals? I can see the Juniors as a separate programme (agree the commentary was crap - why not employ Warner?) but there’s nothing of the elites programmed in any channel.

I am looking at iPlayer from holiday in (a wet) France if that makes any difference.

It's on BBC red button now, and then BBC one from 1:15. Andrew Neethling has joined the generic BBC commentator so it's better than juniors.

Also on discovery plus with thier commentators

It's great for the sport that BBC one are showing it live for 5ish hours.

Ric McLaughlan and Neil Donahue commentating on GCN+ (and presumably Eurosport etc).

Not showing much of the course though.. out of the gate then cut to the motorway. Hopefully they'll show a bit more for the top riders?

Watching on Disco Plus not showing full runs I guess they are starting in quick order so will we not see the top riders full runs ?

Think the early riders are on a 1 min gap, the top ten will be on whole runs I'd think

I'm guessing BBC now have coverage, and they are showing earlier runs. Utter bobbins

Yep, UCI feed died for me too. Switched to BBC and annoyingly it's running about 30 minutes behind.

You'll have to be careful with social media if you're watching on the BBC and don't want the results ruined.

I'm assuming that the BBC feed will then be live for the men? There's a break between women and men.

Surely with the fact the runs are 5 minutes long, it would be better to watch a bit behind live as they can show more of each run?

But then you wouldn't be able to show the winning run live, you would always be a bit behind. No broadcaster is ever going to do that 🙁

@dawson @ocrider RARE management (who I think have organised all Fort William DH World Cups and Champs) are retiring, and there's nobody willing to step in.

I love Vic Reeves doing the club singer, but I’m not sure he’s a good pick fit the commentary.

The hot seat hasn't. They saved a few pennies not providing any shelter for the riders sat there for the next hour.

They said in the commentary they've put fresh gravel down on sections due to punctures on sharp rocks, but I thought that was near the top? Other than that no idea.

Equally bad - the brit seems to go through spells where he adds an "ah" after-ah everything-ah he-ah says-ah - really annoying once you've noticed-ah

That's a shame, clearly he'll just have to keep riding until fort bill is back on the circuit and win then.

I bet Minnaar wishes he still had Marshy gluing his tyres on, how unlucky has he been with punctures this year.

BBC commentry was good and I thought was better than GCN Discovery. V funny when Andrew Neethling used the phrase 'pissed off' and Clare Baldwin interrupted the commentary 2mins later to apologies.

Nice to have Clare and Chris Boardman talking about how amazing the sport of downhill is after the race finished. They seemed emmotional after watching it

I think the BBC did a grand job for the sport in the UK putting it live on BBC one all afternoon.

Think one of the best moments was Kolb crossing the line second and visibly gutted, right up to the moment he realised it was Hatton who had beaten him, then celebrated like he'd won!

Exciting race, thought Needles on commentary was good, even threw in a Warner-esque 'down quicker than a homesick mole'
