Planning to do Plymouth (well, Coypool) to Barnstaple and back over two days and wondering on best option for parking. Will probably park on a residential road but wondered if anyone on here has parked overnight in the vicinity.

Worth noting that it shuts at 8.30. You can park across the road in the B and M car park perhaps. Residential behind it but unsure what it’s like.

Its where we started from.

Plenty of parking, no idea how safe it would be though (we got dropped of near Hooe)

if you are doing coast to coast, why not start at the sea? only £8 a day and you can do it all online etc.

If you start from where Trailseeker suggests, welcome to park outside my house - I’m 2 mins away.

We parked at the ferry port - mainly because it seemed more secure than a random NCP.
Perfectly placed for riding past Plymouth How, as an semi-official start to the ride.

Thanks for the comments/suggestions all - especially scamper j. Reviewing options but will prob stick to original plan - park on street in Coypool, although doing the proper C2C is an option.

I’m still a little confused as to why you would start a coast to coast a couple of miles inland?

Did this one a few years ago if you fancy starting at the seaside - Paignton to Ilfracombe. Can add in some of the better Dartmoor descents.

It’s primarily a (first) bikepacking trip. We’ve done C2C before.
