Good fun but not the most tech trail I expected but the views! That day was wow. Hope I have done the day, the area justice.

Last rode it on a fully rigid £109 Halfords Apollo Forma with calliper brakes and steel rims and plastic pedals, in the rain, for an mbr biketest in 1996.
Possibly one of the best days out ever.

The bit that was sanitised was the descent from the top heading north until you hit the fire road towards Kinlochleven. That's not the Devil's Staircase.

The descent heading south towards Altnafeadh / Glen Coe is the Devil's Staircase (featured in the video) and hasn't been sanitised AFAIK.

How sanitised? Remember there being some fun rocky sections and big drainage ditches before you hit the landy track.

Aye, it used to be much better going north from the top than the DS was when going south.
