Looking at doing the 4 passes this weekend (with a bivvy stop), so we will be descending Black Sail Pass into Wasdale Head to finish (cant wait). Probably get some lunch in the pub, then possibly do one more short run in the area. The options look like  push up and down from Haycock, same on Eskdale Fell or go for a doss in Miterdale forest to the south. Has anybody done these descents, or been in the woods? Opinions & suggestions please!

Coffin road loop..We used to ride up to burnmoor tarn from wasdale head .over to boot. Along to eskdale/mitredale forest& up the b way on tongue moor and get the descent back into wasdale the way you went up.

not done it in ages, was a fave .couple of hours or so should be rightNeedless to say it can be a a bit squishy after rain. 🙂

Yeah love walking and carrying my bike around. Replacement parts cost a fortune these days, saves on ware and tare. Senor J, how long is your route? looks like 20km (ish). Might be a bit long after pushing my bike around the 4 passes and 3pts and a pub lunch. What are your highlights of the route?

Don’t know distance . Not that far,Shirley. Highlights? I liked both descents and used to love the character building climb uponto the singletrack on tongue moor.
