To cut a long story short, a family friend who has some health issues has recently bought a bike 2nd hand to just get around the village and to cycle around in the summer. The bike in itself is very low end but functional for his needs.
He had asked me to look over it as the gears were jumping and what I found was the Derailleur hanger is quite bent. I've been looking for a replacement one but I'm struggling. The bike in itself is a
"Reebok Optimum" and historically looks to have been purchased from JJB.
I am totally aware this is a low end cheap bike, I was of the suggestion that I should fit something like this; https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/clarks-derailleur-hanger/rp-prod120385?gs=1&sku=sku432306&pgrid=60711843258&ptaid=pla-424752307587&utm_source=google&utm_term=&utm_campaign=PLA+All+Products&utm_medium=base&utm_content=mkwid|s3yFgX9TZ_dc|pcrid|309840119912|pkw||pmt||prd|432306UK&gclid=Cj0KCQiApvbhBRDXARIsALnNoK0TvHg-QEhPPEYj7CrBMTXOeBojjWNzP0DXkho-Sdb9sxCOatwMMkQaAjBqEALw_wcB&mx=a
Anyone with any advice / experience please help.
If it matches the thing it’s replacing, go for your life. No point if it’s not the same though, and there are hundreds of different shapes...
What he said.
You can also straighten it
Make one?
(I did a long time ago, it wasn't pretty but it worked)
Seriously though, if you can get a good quality picture of it, I've probably got a spare one here and I'll post it over to you.
