Ok, so I want to go 1x10 with 32t chainring and 11/36 cassette. Want to use Shimano as I couldn't get on with Sram thumb only shifting, am I restricted to a SG medium cage or can I use a SS short cage as I would ideally like to put a saint mech on. Thanks

Check at Shimano Technical pages, but SS cage is for a single ring and the Saint is switchable for road and MTB cassettes.

Is new Saint 10-sp actually in the shops yet?

Similar question here please...

I have a Middleburn Uno 32t crank and am considering a 1x10 set up with an XT 10sp cassette and derailleur - any ideas what spec Mech I should order & whether I am likely to need a chain device as well?

Will the Uno cope with a 10 speed chain?

Ta!

New Saint and Zee 10 speed short cage mechs will both work with an 11-36 cassette 1x10 set up.

Yes, should have said 11-36 cassette in mind. Does the short cage reduce the need for a chain device?
