Not a great photo, but is this too dented to ride? Was on the roof rack and had a fight with a height barrier. I only use it on the road and for very light off roading these days. The dent has a noticeable ridge on one side and the paint is lightly cracked. I'd say it was 2.5cm across and maybe 8mm deep.
I'm guessing it is a goner. Sorry photo is so poor, camera was nicked recently so reduced to my phone.

It'll be fine.
Can't really say from the photo - it's hard to see.
FWIW I had a dent in a CDale scalpel in a similar place (I think) from a mild crash - sort of central on the downtube, similar size, and rode it as normal off road for a couple of years afterwards. No problems at all. In fact it eventually got a hairline crack by the bb and I got it warrantied independent of the other ding.
If it's the dent above the 'E', i wouldn't be worried. my mate rode his 'Dale till it broke. (somewhere else, i might add)
I bought my 1FG with a bigger dent than that in the down tube. 4 years on, it's still going strong....
Think it'll be ok. Just keep an eye on it and if it does get any bigger or spread then you should stop riding it.
Thanks. The headset is starting to go too, so I'll ride it until that packs up then. These evolution headsets are a pain to find now.
Off to buy a new seatpost, saddle and shifters then - they were all casualties of the impact!
