I'm looking to spend a fairly hefty amount of money on a new "all mountain" frame and forks in the next few months. Having only really ridden 100-120mm travel, or full on DH bikes in the past, this is a new field to me and there are some great looking bikes around (575, Tracer, Alpine, Mojo etc) but I'm obviously keen to try before I buy, given the investment involved.

My LBS are being pretty helpful but have a limited supply of demo bikes that need to be ordered in. Most shops that have a demo fleet tend to charge for their use, which is fair enough but if you want to try a few that starts to get expensive and involve a lot of travelling round.

All the big demo series of the past seem to have disappeared this year - Bike Radar cancelled, Mountain Mayhem has no mention of demos and I can't find any others mentioned online.

Am I missing something? Is it too late in the year already??

Lapierre are doing one at Dalby, and current Lappy owners can ride the course.

Is that this weekend? Bit far for a spur of the moment trip unfortunately - shame as I wouldn't have minded going to watch the racing anyway.

There is one in June in Gratham, spoke to LBS there ... part of Rutlands I think??? They seem to be having a large demo day ... at least that's what Billy said(nice guy from Gratham cycles).

I couldn't find anything on the website so I rang them:-

This might help: http://locator.demodaze.co.uk/ it's only for Trek, but they do a couple of nice bikes, I hear.

Thanks Rob. That seems to just give info on stockist who have demo bikes available. At anywhere from £25-50 per demo bike, that could get expensive.
