Thought about getting a new username to ask this question as it is a bit embarrassing 😀 However my track bike is making me desperate to pee.
I am ok riding normally only becomes an issue when doing hard efforts and as soon as i get off the bike i'm paranoid that there will be a wet patch on my shorts 😀 I should add i've not actually pished myself just felt like i am about to. I'm making sure not to drink too much, go to the toilet before hand etc but that doesnt seem to make any difference to the feeling!
On my road and mountain bike ive never had this problem. I thought it might be the saddle that was at fault as the oem saddle was uncomfortable - however i've changed this to another one now (same as on my road bike) and the saddle now feels fine...but the problem persists when i'm pushing it. I'm guessing this isn't a normal issue but was just wondering if anyone else has had the issue and how they resolved it?
Not the clothing is it? I find when getting ready for a ride I need to pee about 5 minutes after putting on stretchy under shorts.
carbon frame vibrations tickling your bits?
What saddle is it?
Sounds like it is putting pressure on your prostate. Have you tried raising or lowering your handlebars to change the angle you are leaning at slightly?
I imagine you're much more bum up and heads down on the track bike - perhaps pressure on your perineum (sp?) is different/higher and leading to that 'about to go' feeling? You're probably more on your sit bones on the same sadlle on a road bike.
you could try one of those 'split' saddles like this?
are you sure youre not dehydrated can sometimes make you feel like that, cutting back on fluids may make the sensation worse!
Dont think it is the clothes as i'm just using my regular summer cycling gear.
It is a specialized romin saddle, was a barelli something or other previously. There is a cut away channel on the saddle but it is on the middle rather than the nose.
I thought it might be position related but when i am going round at a moderate pace (even for an hour or so) i dont have the problem, only when pushing hard...perhaps i am further forward on the saddle when doing that though. Will need to try and tinker a bit and raise the bars see if that makes a difference.
I dont think it is dehydration as ive experienced the same problem when drinking quite a lot as well as when cutting it back.

You might find the cutout is increasing pressure on nerves that a non cut out saddle would not. It might be an avenue to explore.

Not wanting to be dramatic but would it not be best to get to the doctor about this? Might be nothing but better off being checked out than not, no?
possibly:
you're getting cold?
i'm just using my regular summer cycling gear.
i need to pee if i get chilly - i may not feel 'cold' but i've had rides recently where i've had to pee every half hour or so.
my riding-pal-who's-a-doctor says i'm getting chilly, so the blood vessels in my skin contract, so the blood pressure in my core rises, so my kidneys remove water/volume/pressure from my blood.
it seems that i'm happier feeling a little chilly, than i am feeling a bit too warm, so i tend to under-dress.
