Hi - We are on holiday near Delamere next week - what is the riding in the forest like? Have had a look at the forestry commission maps - how easy is it to find good riding, as the website seems to say it is unmarked.

Also for anyone local, what is the BMX track at Winsford like? Would it be suitable for my kids (6 and 13) on MTBs?

Thanks

undulating, with a skills area other side of road from the visitor centre, look for road through centre of woods .good cafe and shop, but it gets very busy there.

mostly trail roads but some narrow hidden bits.

The boys at 1250 bikes in Frodsham do a shop ride on a Wednesday night there. Unfortunately they aren't next week.

It's my old stomping ground and well worth a play about in.

I can't wait to come back to the UK next year so I can ride all my old haunts including Delamere.

SO how easy are the hidden bits to find and link into something good?

It ranges from average to pretty good but a lot of the better stuff is not that obvious, I would still give it a go if your near by, just remember midge protection, especially if your riding in the evening.
