looks like as of next month i will be spending a lot of time in Shotton for the following 6 months. Trying to think whether i would be better off taking a road bike or mtb. My riding time will be evenings during the week or commuting.

What are the mtb options? i am aware of a place called Delamere, not really cycling distance from Shotton though, anything else?

I'm originally from flint mate and we go to llandegla which is about 25 mins away by car. Apart from that we drive further into wales for more trails; marin and Penmachno and Betws y coed way or dolgellau way is Coed y brenin. Apart from that there's the clwydian hills in nearby mold which have a lot to offer.

http://www.chestermtb.co.uk regular Saturday rides and mid-week rides. Tons of stuff to ride in the Clwyds.

I work at Llandegla and live in Saltney, have an unofficial mini shop ride on a Tues night, lots of natural stuff in the area.
Like Russ says look up Chester mtb, decent bunch of lads and lasses.

Also waiting for road bike to be delivered so am up for that in the area too.
