Deeper Cassette tool

Hello - My existing cassette lockring removal tool doesn't seem long/deep enough to engage with the lockring. I'm sure I saw a longer one recommended on here, but my searching isn't throwing up any results.

(The cassette cogs rotate a few mm independently of each other, bikes newish, only about 400 road& gravel miles, maybe the shop sent it out looser than ideal?)

Just checking, have you got a spacer or anything in the centre that’s restricting the tool from engaging as deeply as it needs to?

I have a cheap unbranded thing and an icetoolz one. Reasonably sure the icetoolz one has more clearance/depth. But they are buried deep in the shed so I can't check right now.

With some hubs you need to take the end cap off first before using the tool...

I had this problem with a centrelock rotor, park tool cassette tool not deep enough. The Lezyne one worked perfectly, the one with the cassette tool on one side and the Baba tool on the other and the separate bar/lever thing. It's got a hole right through for the axle which the park tool one didn't have

I had similar problems Centerlock rotor over a thru axle

This was deep enough to work https://www.wiggle.co.uk/lifeline-cassette-lockring-tool

The Icetoolz one is longer than the Park Tools one. I needed it for a centerlock rotor, but should work on a cassette. But as above, I've never heard of anyone having this problem with a cassette, so I'd check there isn't something else causing the problem.

Another vote for the icetoolz one, longer than my previous one, and not too expensive either.

+1 for the icetoolz one too. It replaced an older one that had was too shallow combined with too much metal inside that it fouled before engaging on some freehubs.

Great, thanks.
My current tool is blocked by the hope hub end cap, and I can't remove the end cap whilst the lockring is in place - catch 22.
I'll buy the icetoolz one and see how I get on.
