Just received some M:Part brown bar tape, fitted it in a rush then noticed it is a reddy brown rather than a standard tan colour.

Be careful if you are buying brown M:Part tape as they have changed it - the tape is now perforated but the library pictures show a tape with no perforations. I can't really comment on what the colour was like before they changed the tape but the stuff I have looks nothing like the library pictures or the tape on Genesis bikes.

Anyway, I'm looking for some leather look tape that is a decent colour match for a Flux saddle. The Deda stuff is cheap and I can pick some up on Tuesday, click and collect.

Any suggestions?

Deda isn't bad, and is a reasonable colour match for a Tan Charge Knife:

I got some Fizik tape which was almost an exact match for the brown Charge Spoon. Looks a bit lighter than the Genesis saddle on my friends bike though.

Different saddle pictured here!

Nice steed and the tape and saddle looks like a decent match on my monitor. Think I'll take a punt on them - easy enough to return as I won't be making the same mistake twice...

I was going to wrap it in reverse so the logos are hidden but they would re-appear if I changed direction at the levers which is what Park recommend. Stupid logos. 🙄

Just try and get the wrap right first time round! It doesn't like being re-wrapped, the adhesive strip is too strong I think and ends up tearing the tape etc.

Also at the bends on the bar be very patient to make sure the tape doesn't crease/fold underneath itself, hard to describe but you can end up with lots of little raised Vs if you don't take it slow. Just run your finger along the overlap and take your time to keep it smooth.

OK buddy. I have used it before, I think. I used white Deda Mistral tape on a Ribble and I'm pretty sure the brown tape is also Mistral. It doesn't have a great deal of stretch but is still pretty workable.

The main reason I bought the M:Part stuff was because it had no logos on it. The unexpected perforations I could live with but the reddy-brown colour is a bit rubbish so the tape is going the journey

It's annoying when a manufacturer changes the spec of something and the store doesn't update their site to inform you of the change.

Also, I had to wait four days because the store had to get it from the supplier. This could explain why I was in such a hurry to fit it without my OCD kicking in. I could have had the Deda stuff in a day or two if I'd gone that way originally.

Charge U-bend 45 may be a nice match, I'd imagine the brown version matches the Charge saddles.
I have it on a retro road build and its nice looking stuff and seems pretty tough.
