This is a bit of a long shot, but I'm decorating at the moment and need a stairwell tower or combi step ladder or something so i can get the wallpaper off and repaint my stairwell.
Any ideas where to get one (that are cheap!)?
I'm based in swindon so would need something close to there. Thought about hiring one but they seem pretty expensive for a week's hire...
Thanks!

did mine free style just wearing climbing shoes and wedging myself against the wall. this probably wont help you, but i just want to show off and I can't tell my wife that that was how i did it as she'll shout at me. It is kind of satisfying finding the stupidist most dangeous way to do something.

I did something like this with two ladders, one against the wall, the other horizontal as a walkway;

(I didn't do the step ladder at the top of the stairs bit)

edit - image has moved;

do a google image search for "ladder and plank on stairs" - it's the fourth result.

I've got a friend who had some suggestions which i think involved paint pots, ladders and careful balancing...

+1 or HSS, about £30 to hire the combi ladder for the weekend.

cover stairs with bouldering mats/mattresses, that way if you were to fall it wouldn't hurt as much as it could!

Need to do ours, it has been replastered but woodwork needs sanding, which I keep putting off.

Our DIY rule is no DIY in BST.
