I'd say that is a good candidate for STW to use as a head to head with a more bigger brand's bike in the same class. Assuming that this is not already on the cards at STW Towers...

There's going to be more room in the market for stuff like this as all the mainstream brands push prices ever higher. I'll never pay 6 or 7k for a Trek or Specialized but I'd consider something like this.

It’s a trunnion mounted yoked shock, so it’s going to eat rear shocks.

Is the curved top tube an attempt to leave space for the rear shock or is it genuinely attempting to replicate a sh!tting dog? Is there a real benefit to that sh!tting dog pose that means it gets used?
Spec sounds fantastic, price it absolutely brilliant...looks are very clearly a 4th or 5th consideration!

They sponsor some XCO riders (a team?) Obviously looking to get back into the high end market.

Trunnion and yoke driven shock is gonna need perfect alignment, what are the chances of Decathlon managing it and at that price.

They make good kit, so I suspect it'll be a much higher success rate than failures.

It'll be just like their previous stuff that seems good value, it'll be on the website to suck people in but actually they'll only make / sell a handful. A loss leader to get people looking at the other stuff

Was in a store in Zaragoza and they had a big line up of xc hardtail bikes. Carbon framed, very fancy parts, sexy forks.

Most expensive was I think 3k. Nice looking bikes.

i found that on my Kona process the rockshox deluxe suffered from water ingress, was fine with fox, but went through bushings and internal seals, i suspect it was the yoke/trunion putting stress on it, suspension worked great though

Be interesting to see if they actually get any in stock.

Carbon frame (looks like the love child of a Boardman & an Uno lol) & Mavic carbon wheels, decent RS bouncy bits and 13.5kg for just over £3k - bargain!!

Decathlon: “Check out this awesome shreddit on some gnarly trails”

Also Decathlon: “Not suitable for MTB DH use.”

😂
