[Closed] Decals over vinyl frame protector?

I asked CRC about removing graphics from a frame in order to use custom decals and the response was not possible without respraying but "perhaps you could cover the frame with heat treated vinyl and apply your decals afterwards"

I assume they mean something like Invisiframe but opaque (would need to be gloss black in this case).

First thought is that that would look a bit naff tbh and really obvious, even assuming it works... has anyone done something like this? Good results?

Thinking I should give up this idea at the moment!
