Without wanting to get too specific one of my favourite trails has been bulldozed this week.

On balance it probably had to happen - but - the trashing of the trail has made far more of a mess than the trail did or ever would. I rode past it today and it is more ugly than any over- ridden eroded section that gets moaned about but stays. What is particularly sad to me is that our Ranger was aware of the new trail and knew it was good - but even then, once others knew it was there, it was unsanctioned and had to go.

But... I found a very recent new one today, maybe a bit steep and tech for my ability, but still doable - as one trail dies another is reborn.

Big love to trailbuilders everywhere...

our entire forest has succumbed to the fungal spores and is/has been razed to the ground leaving debris/carnage everywhere, this pretty much limiting our riding to not much....and the (xc) trail pixies (mainly my buddies and me) don't have the time to rebuild any more..families etc so the chances of new trails springing up are very slim.
gutted

I think I know the one you're talking about Winterfold and Nick. A real shame, it was a great trail - it must have taken ages to build. I suppose rules is rules though. 🙁

Sorry for your loss Carl
