Local bike shop only has the thin ones so just wondering how much bigger they find the thick ones?

Also anyone using the race version? They sound like they are a bit softer but less durable?

I have the thick ones. They feel fine and don't feel massively fat. My mate had the thin ones; I don't think I'd have liked them as I like a grip with some give in it. For what it is worth I normally take size 9 gloves, i.e my hands are not massive. Id go fat / soft.

The different versions feel quite different... I use the thin ones and can't get on at all with the fat ones... suck it and see.

I'm a XL glove and run the thick (soft?) Deathgrips. Happy to replace with the same when the time comes.

Large glove size and found the thin too thin. Thick is just perfect. Race compound. I’ve found it wears fine, although the ends do mangle if you crash or hit them too hard with a rubber mallet trying to seat then all the way. Oops. Still prefer it to the harder compounds.

Doesn’t have to be death grips, just looked interesting. Tried some Diety lockjaw and found them a bit thick for me around the thumb end so maybe a thinner grip is what I need.

Race don’t last long but the choice for gloveless riding Imo. As I find the normal compound a bit hard sans gloves.

hit them too hard with a rubber mallet trying to seat then

definitely worth putting a cloth over them when tapping on

not that I always do it

I like my deathgrips thick, soft and flanged FWIW

I’ve moved on from deathgrips.
I like them but they wear too quickly and find others do the same better or at least as good but wear better.

I’ve moved to fabric fun guys, gusset, or mondraker desert.

Grips are fairly subjective IMO, just giving my 2p. I do like deathgrips just experimented with others and found I prefer them.

I’ve got deathgrips in thin / soft on 3 bikes. Prior to that I used raceface half Nelson’s - but they tended to start creaking after a while and were just a bit too thin. On the flip side I tried Sam Hill Nukeproof grips and found them too far for me.

Ideally I’d find something very similar to a deathgrip but that was a bit more durable as they do wear fairly quickly on the ends I find.

^^^ yeah it is! Tried a few so far and not set on anything just yet!

I will probably end up with a mass box of grips.

The think/soft are my lads go-to grips, but as above, they're grippy but don't last too long. Luckily we get them as part of the team...

We've got 2 spare pairs of thick soft to try next, i'll be curious to see as i find the thin ones a little too thin for myself.

The lock jaws I have are 32mm but just seen too thick for me around the thumb/clamp area. Otherwise ok. That’s why I like look off the death grips as they have the squishy bit there lol.

Will give the thick soft a try.

I’ve had thin/soft and think I’d go thick next time. And I have small hands

Thin for me, troed tbick, just not for me at all. Mate had the same experience, he just offered me a set of thick ones.

Race ones last about two rides, avoid.

Liked the Deity but just a little too wide and I have big hands.

Fat Death Grips fit me really well

ODI Ruffian also good and similar size to the fat Death Grips.

I like deathgrips thin/soft for me. I don't like thick grips.

I like the thick/soft DeathGrips. But if you’d like something similar but a bit thicker and quite a lot more cushioned without that awful wobbly feeling, the new ODI Reflex are great. They also do an even thicker one but I haven’t tried them.

I wear size 8 gloves and prefer the thick. I bought thin and they felt small for me despite only being 1.5mm thinner.

The normal ones are 20A compound in all colours except gum which is 25A (harder). Race are softer still. I have the normal ones and the outer top edges went smooth after not too long.

I'd buy again but I like trying new things so next will be Burgtec Bartender Pro or Deity Knuckleduster.
