As above, doing a day ride out from Church Stretton this Saturday. I'd like to take in the best tech sections on the Long Mynd and also take in Minton Batch woods.

Is getting over to Stipperstones as well, unrealistic in a day?

Any suggestions of must-do sections or routes taking in the above, greatfully received!

Goat track that runs down gully at north end of the glider school, ride road and back up track to southern end of glider school, some run off in the trees as well if you want a little more techy down hills, but then need to climb back up again!! no suprise really!!

Bit of boring road work involved with going over to stiperstones.I usually do that loop on my xc bike which makes it a bit easier on the legs.stiperstones is quite good for techy stuff especially if u take in eastridge and a few off piste downhills.Theres also some good riding to be had on the other side of A49 around the Caradoc and Lawley etc.All depends on what type of bike ur riding really.

Another nice down if you ride along the Shropshire way to the North and then where it meets Jack myton Way you head North east and drop down a long fast grassy ridge. Stay to the right of the small house as you get to the bottom and drop down to your right into the valley down some really nice single track..

My favourite section was the descent down into Carding Mill Valley. Nice and rocky and not the slop-fest Minton Batch was when I was there.
Try and do it when it's not full of walkers though.

Only been there once, but really liked it. There was some tracks in the woods climbing back upto glider school. You'll see some m/c enduro type trails as you climb the fireroad. Continue past them and you'll see a trail dive into dark woods on left. A little further up on right of fireroad is the other half. We pushed our bikes up this bit to find the start. Nice little DH 🙂

Thanks for the replies. I think we'll be parking at/starting out from the NT car park at Carding Mill (as I can park there for free!).
