Thinking of visiting Gisburn as part of a weekend away in March, but the red and the Hope line are probably not a full day's fun. Is there anything else nearby that a bunch of non-locals can find and ride without too much map-wrangling?

Settle Loop. start is 20 mins drive away from Gisburn.

Signposted at all the major junctions. But do it in 'reverse' - ie avoid the big road climb out of Settle, come down Stockdale Lane and the BWs south of the road to finish.

It's only about 12 miles, and much of it is pretty quick.

Alternatively, this one is ace, about the same distance away, 10 miles long, pretty easy to navigate, and takes only about 1.hr30 at most.

2nd those suggestions, especially if the weather is ok (open/exposed/good views). When finishing off the settle loop, I'd suggest you just come straight down the road into settle (when you reach it), the extra little dog-leg on the bridleway just takes you straight through a deep wall-to-wall puddle most of the winter in my (admittedly very limited) experience. That clapham loop also works well clockwise.
