Loved watching Daves videos, the guy visited new spots and was never afraid to try jumps/drop offs etc.
After a long time off he's back.... but now seems to be focusing on gaming. I wish him the best of luck in this new direction but will definitely miss his content.

Also used to really enjoy his videos. Often wondered what happened to him so am glad to see him back even if it's different content he's doing. To be fair he did seem to damage himself quite a bit with the mountain biking so not that surprised he's gave it up.

Clicking on his new content to see if he's found a way to seriously hurt himself playing Halo.

Loved Dave’s old piece to camera about not wanting to be good, just “semi not crap”, a phrase that is often adopted on our rides after yet another cased jump.

Making knuckle dusters and taking them into Birmingham pubs seems to be his current plan! 🙁

Used to really like his mountain biking videos, but he came across as a real saddo in a recent video of his that I watched. I un-subscribed afterwards.

He didn't come across well in his latest video. I wonder if he's always been like that or if things have not been going well for him.

He got a lot of flak from local riders for putting the "not quite legal" local trails in the spot light after others had toiled to build them

Locally known as "the window cleaning weapon"

His stuff was funny though

I might be the minority but I found him quite strange.
Very very strange guy who I tried to avoid if we ever crossed paths locally.
The only part I felt sorry for him was there always seemed to be people happy to push him above what he was comfortable with ,which he loved playing upto but then they would act very sympathetic when it went pair shaped .

Yeah I unsubscribed also. Shame as he made some entertaining videos.
Also unsubbed from Paul the punter when he recently announced he was done with MTB.
Personally I just can't see the day I would ever want to give up on MTB.
It's a lifestyle choice goddammit, not a hobby!

He's a dick. He made a video showing himself riding GBU at FOD while it was closed for repairs and improvements even when he knew it was closed, and was told not to ride it. Then when he was called out by multiple people in the comments section he doubled down saying FOD should appreciate him giving their trails 'exposure' and that he didn't care that it was closed.

Looks like he's since deleted all the comments calling him out and also his replies as well.

I used to really enjoy watching his stuff as he came across as just a normal guy learning to ride. However, when he posted the video of him riding GBU at FOD to get redemption on top drop when the trail was closed for resurfacing that was pretty poor. Then he was posting group rides during lockdown when we were only supposed to be doing a one hour walk a day or what ever, I lost interest.
I watched about 4 minutes of his latest moon landing video and read some of his comments and think he's maybe not well. There's a real possibility he's got a mental illness and if that's the case then I hope he gets some help for it. He seemed a nice guy but maybe he is going through something.

Just watched a few minutes of his latest videos. It's exactly the same tone and subjects as my next door neighbour when he doesn't take his medication. He has paranoid schizophrenia. It's very concerning to see and I hope someone is looking out for the chap as from my experience it doesn't get better untreated. 😔

Curiosity got the better of me but I could only tolerate a few minutes, disappointed, he didn't even mention the Van Allen belt or the thermosphere being 4500 degrees Fahrenheit.

It' either surreal comedy genius or he's really not well

trust me mate I am working my arse off on proving a lot of physics wrong right this moment. I told you I am building an electromagnetic turbine at this very moment that is hopefully going to solve the energy crisis. It is half built . You know sweet nothing about physics but you’ve got all the talk. My experiment of the meat in vacuum packaging has turned your knowledge of physics upside down. You just aren’t man enough to admit it. Vacuum packaging is a vacuum, of course, and you are now trying to evade the evidence of my brilliant , cheap, simple experiment. A packet of vacuum packaged bacon in a freezer has done you mate.

Jesus wept. You must be a medical genius. You've watched a couple of minutes of a video and can diagnose he has paranoid schizophrenia?

Like above, i used to enjoy him flinging himself off of stuff and thinking for a guy that crashes a lot he has some balls.
However when he defended riding the closed GBU trail at FOD and outright said that he didnt care, thats when i switched off and marked him down as a moron.

His latest stuff seems to point to some sort of mental issue and i really hope he gets some help to sort himself out.

My punctuation is poor, it should read that my neighbour has paranoid schizophrenia. I make no call on Mr Jenvey's state of mind other than I have almost identical conversations with my neighbour.

Not got anything better to do today lads? Nothing like trial by singletrack forum is there. Literally a character assassination. Must be marvellous to be holier than thou. And I bet most of you broke some sort of lockdown rules or rode a trail you shouldn't have at some point, not that you'd be man enough to admit it. Hypocrites.

True, but most people have better judgement (and better things to do with their time) than put it on YT.

Strange timing this as I looked up some of his old vids a few months ago to see if he was still in the hurt game. His efforts back in the day were both hilarious and commendable.

Not going to view his new stuff nor make any comments.

It's a modern paradox. Too much time alone on the internet to embrace the silliness, almost unchallenged (you can delete comments) and free from the majority of the shaming that happens in real life.

His latest video which just popped up on my feed is him asking for recommendations for a new drug dealer because his old one has moved away!  Then I looked at his moon landing conspiracy vid, which I'd not seen before.

I used to like his mtb vids but he seems to have lost the plot somewhat. Unsubscribed but I hope he gets himself sorted.

Due to the grim fascination of watching his decline I haven’t unsubscribed yet. Maybe some of the MTB luminaries (Jedi, pinnedtv) he’s crossed paths with could try an intervention but I think he’s too far gone and his reason for giving up MTB ( risk of injury) is in his case, valid.

Dear god, I saw a new video from Dave had popped up on my feed, and it seems (I'm not watching it) of a similar vein to his last one, now I see there are several I've missed, including a moon landing were fake vid... oh well 😟

It is sad, I liked his attitude of trying to overcome stuff, especially when he's taken a tumble, but always thought he was trying too hard to run, before he could walk (some mtb trail features).

I also used to watch his videos, he seemed like a nice bloke and a true ballsy calamity on a bike but entertaining to watch.

Nowadays it seems he just wants to fight anyone who’s up for it, seemingly attracts the wrong type of person on occasions and has now put his phone number and address on his video asking for people to please man up and come fight him… rather than ignore the critics it seems the he’s been consumed by any hate in the comments.

Quite a strange turn of events and if he’s getting money from watches fair enough, but yes not my cup of tea now. Someone needs to lend him a DH bike and get him to twisted oaks  with a gopro 🤣

Not being much of a Youtube watcher, I'd never heard of him. I quite enjoyed watching his vids at some of my old haunts like Stile Cop and Kinver.

It's his choice to not mountain bike any more and Youtube commentators can be a special breed of idiot.

Part of me thinks that he is just on a massive wind-up. I hope so anyway. I had a genuine 'LOL' at the doorbell sign scene on his latest video, and the guided tour of fighting spots was quite comical at times.

The fella clearly needs help urgently. That isn't an act.

I can't watch those recent videos for very long, it's just not right to use them as any sort of entertainment. He's in a bad place, especially when you consider how he used to come across on his biking videos, completely different person. Hope he sorts himself out. Hopefully family and or friends have stepped in.

It seems to me that he gave up Mountain Biking and has just got back into other stuff he's done previously, that he was much much better at. Such as fighting, football/golf ball, videogames and science. I don't blame him at all.

He wasn't very good at Mountain Biking (although, I'm not good either, he did some stuff that I won't attempt) and crashed a lot and gave it up in the end, it was too dangerous too expensive and too much hassle.

I wish I could give it up at times, but there's jack all that I'm good at. He's good at a lot of other things for sure. You only need to see the golf ball video. Then he claims he's just as good at "punching heads" as he is at golf ball. He probably is, because he must be proper rock hard to put his address on the screen and ask the keyboard warriors, who have been trolling his channel for years, for a punchup. A quick Google search on "Dave Jenvey boxing" shows that he is proper good at boxing. He is also good at videogames, often claiming to be the best Doom Eternal player in the world, and can complete all levels on ultra nightmare, which very few have ever done.

I don't know much about some of these new topics he's introduced to his channel, but I don't think there is any bullshit. He was honest about his ability level on the bike, never pretending to be something he isn't, unlike most people who think they're good but really they wouldn't even attempt half the stuff that Jenvey did. So I believe he's being honest about his ability level in all these other things.

As for science, he says he's solved the energy crisis with his turbine, but it's still yet to be proven for certain if it really works as far as I can tell.

Those that unsubscribed from his channel might want to reconsider.

The first few videos in the "new content" were a bit boring admittedly, just watching him play videogames really. But after that, the channel has actually really come back to life, with all sorts of far more interesting/entertaining stuff on there now.

I'm a brummie and I find his droning commentary a put off on the bike videos. His riding doesn't actually look too bad to me, just inconsistent. He'd clear one jump but then case the next, I guess that's just part of learning to ride.

Shame to lose a fellow mountain biker. All the best Dave.

I've only watched a couple of his recent videos due to this thread, never watched any others so maybe I'm reading it wrong, but he seems to have a pretty strong don't give a **** attitude, and there's an element of tongue in cheek about it. For sure I'd not be comfortable putting my personal details online with 1000s of views. Are they actually his details? I'm too scared to call him up myself and ask!?

Yes,  his details are definetely correct. He put his details on the screen because here are keyboard warriors who had been trolling the comments in his channel for years, and he offered them to come round to his house for a punchup. So far no one has turned up. But he has had two windows smashed, which he doesn't seem to give a shit about, because he's raking the money in from the oil invemestments at the moment, and the people throwing stones prove that they have a problem with him but are too cowardly to actually show up for a fight.

By "throwing stones" do you mean they doubt that he's invented a perpetual motion machine while pottering about the house waiting for his ankle tag to charge? Because there's a difference between peer review and some kind of physicist WWE where the strongest scientist gets their ideas accepted!

Can't wait. I hope there's something for the dressage fans in there too.

The invention that I came up with was the foam stick, or foam pole.

"Since I became infatuated with US billionairess Ariana Rockefeller",

Well, at least the blurb provides her with enough for the restraining order.

I'll leave to those experts we've had enough of to pick holes in his 'infinite energy' machine. Unless Big Oil gets to him first.

He’s got an original idea to use step up transformers to create energy, called the ring of power.

Yet more shite from Dave, sounds suspiciously like a lack of sphincter control to me.

Anyway you lot will be grateful for his forthcoming baldness cure!

He doesn't need to call out heavyweights there's plenty of fighting men who will be up for it. Remember the amateur boxer who called out Deontay Wilder, it didn't go well for him when he turned up at his gym!

Fighting men of utube.

not a pugilist but pretty sure "bare knuckle" doesn't literally mean that so wraps are allowed. Plus I think the wraps are as much if not more about protecting the wrists (both fighters have wrists strapped up).
